- SOUTH KOREA -
TRIP | CLASSIC KOREA
Seoul (3) - Gyeongju (1) - Busan (3) - Jeju Island (3)
Your holiday in South Korea covers the most popular and classical destinations - Seoul, Gyenogju, Busan and Jeju Island.
Your holiday begins with an introduction to one of Asia's most vibrant and colourful capitals - Seoul. Here experience both the traditional and the modern face of Korea - from its royal palaces and squares, its art & craft markets, their street food which is a religion, and their own style of K-music, fashion and dance which is now known all over the world. In between, make a visit to the DMZ, a stark reminder of how politics and statecraft can be both divisive and yet hold potential for positive change.
From Seoul, travel south and even further back into history to the 1st millenium and the Shilla Dynasty, who adopted Buddhism and united the Korean people. Here at Gyeongju, see the peak of Shilla patronage in arts and architecture in the stunning UNESCO World Heritage sites, tombs, and temples.
On Korea's south east coast, spend a few days in Busan, a thriving port city and home to the Busan International Film Festival, the world's largest shopping mall, and a luxury vibe that reminds you of Barcelona.
Your last stop is to the south of the Korean peninsula at the sub-tropical island of Jeju. As much as a beach and lesiure destination, Jeju is one of the world's few GeoParks, recognised for its unique geology, lava tunnels, and dormant volcanoes. Climb volcanic craters, hike through wildflower strewn meadows, wooded paths past ancient oreums (small volcanic mounds), pristine waterfalls and stunning coastal vistas.
This is the ideal introduction to one of Asia’s most remarkable countries covering its regal history at Gyeongju, the energy of its capital Seoul, the bustle of Busan, and the stunning land and seascapes of Jeju Island.
