Yangon (1) - Bagan (2) - Mandalay (2) - Inle Lake (2) - Yangon (1)
Take a whirlwind trip to Myanmar’s highlights. Gaze upon ancient pagodas in Bagan and explore Inle Lake’s scenic waters. Delve into Myanmar’s spiritual traditions in Mandalay and be enchanted by Yangon’s blend of old and new. This is the ideal introduction to one of Asia’s most remarkable countries.
Your classical discovery of Myanmar begins in Rangoon, or as it is better called today - Yangon. Here the highlight of your day will be a visit to the Shwedagon Pagoda - best visited before sunset, when the gilded domes give off the most magical glow. A short flight takes you to Bagan - the most beautiful of all destinations in Myanmar, and the 11th-13th century capital of this ancient land. The plains of Bagan are strewn with thousands of stupas and pagodas, and you will have an exclusive opportunity to see one of the world’s most romantic landscapes from the comfort of a hot air balloon high above the plains at sunrise. From Bagan, you fly to the evocatively named Mandalay, the spiritual heart of Myanmar. Here on day trips, you will experience Mahamuni Buddhism, visit key temples, and make a day trip to Sagaing - an important religious centre of the country. Your last of the big four destinations is the calm and picturesque location of Inle Lake. Here you will explore lakeside communities by boat - venture into remote villages and local markets, see unique livelihoods such as fishing, weaving, and rice wine making. Your last stop is in Yangon, where time permitting, you can enjoy the Circular Train Line in Yangon, to get your last slice of life look at Myanmar, and perhaps pick up something memorable from Yangon’s old markets.
